Pasantía internacional “Inclusive Excellence in 21st Century Language Education”

INTRODUCCIÓN AL PROGRAMA

The present internship, delivered by Missouri State University (MSU), Springfield, is an intensive specialization program aimed at strengthening the competencies of English teachers. The curriculum was developed by the English Language Institute of Missouri State University, considering the guidance from the academic team of the Magíster en Enseñanza del Inglés como Lengua Extranjera (MEI) (MEI) at Universidad Andrés Bello. This internship program is hosted by the Continuing Education Directorate of the Faculty of Education at Universidad Andrés Bello.

This program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of inclusive excellence in the context of K-12 and higher education, with a special emphasis on teaching English as a second language. Through a combination of lectures by MSU faculty members and other experts, site visits, networking opportunities, and cultural experiences, participants will gain insights into effective strategies for fostering inclusive environments in their English as a second language classrooms.

The internship will take place in the city of Springfield, United States, from February 1 to 10, 2025. Cost: 1.700.000 pesos chilenos (the regular price is $2,500,000, with a special discount in November), all-inclusive, except for airfare and health insurance.

ACADEMIC PROPOSAL

The English Language Institute at Missouri State University is pleased to announce the program “Inclusive Excellence in 21st Century Language Education” for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) educators. This innovative program is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of inclusive excellence in the context of K-12 and higher education with a special emphasis on teaching English as a Second Language. Through a combination of lectures by MSU faculty members and other experts, site visits, networking opportunities, and cultural experiences, participants will gain valuable insights into effective strategies for fostering inclusive environments in their ESL classrooms. We look forward to welcoming educators to an enriching and transformative experience at Missouri State University’s English Language Institute to foster inclusive excellence in 21st-century education.

Learning Outcomes
1. Develop a general understanding of inclusive excellence in both K-12 and higher education settings.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of methods and tactics for inclusive excellence, particularly for neuro-divergent and gender-divergent, refugee, and immigrant English language learners.
3. Apply acquired knowledge to enhance classroom practices and promote inclusivity within diverse learning environments.
4. Explore the intersectionality of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles with Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) methodologies.

CERTIFICACIÓN

Al término del programa los estudiantes recibirán una certificación en formato digital otorgada por la Facultad de Educación y Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Andrés Bello y una certificación otorgada por la Missouri State University.
